Discovering God

One of the most important goals for Cross of Life is to help you discover God. We endeavour to do that by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ in all of our worship services, messages, events, Bible camps, Soccer Camps, and programs. But the way to really get to know God the best is to sit down with a group of people and dig into his Word together.

Cross of Life offers many different Bible studies for people of all ages on a regular basis:

101 - Growing In Hope

"Growing in Hope" is a 16-lesson, introductory study of all the Bible's teachings. This is the Bible study that people take who are interested in becoming more involved as members of Cross of Life. This Bible study is a great way to get a solid overview of what God is telling us in his Word. It is a study that will strengthen faith and knowledge. It is the best way to really see what we believe and teach about God's Word - also a great refresher for those who have had some training. Everyone who takes this course takes a lot out of it and really grows in their hope and faith in God. (Held at various times and places to meet needs of those who want to take it.)

201 - Growing in Service

"Growing in Service" is a 10-lesson course that can be taken over 10 nights or 2 weekends. This is the follow-up course to Growing in Hope, and can help an individual with a rejuvenated faith learn how he or she can put their God-given gifts into service for others. It is a great way to do a self-analysis, and help discover what it is you have to offer as you live in thanks to God. It fosters a warm connection with the people you take this course with - a real bond can develop.

301 - Congregational Evangelist Program

This program is a repeating-core-curriculum that takes as many as two years to complete. The CEP Class digs into the Bible in a deeper way than our first two courses of study. This course involves homework - and much of it! Students generally prepare about 2 hours per week for this study. The curriculum includes several 12-week courses, ranging from Old and New Testament Survey to the Life of Christ, to Law and Gospel, to the study of Paul's epistles, to practical courses on teaching and witnessing. The goal of this two year course is to develop skills to use in personal and congregational ministry. You put a lot in and get a lot out! Students can join the curriculum at any time - usually when the next 12-week course begins. Currently, it is held Thursday evenings at 7:30 pm.

Sunday Morning Bible Study (9:30 am)

While the kids are at Sunday School, the adults gather for an hour of Bible study. We study various books and teachings of the Bible. We often take topics, like parenting, relationship-building, witnessing, worship, and many others. Or we look at issues like dealing with guilt, making decisions, living in the modern world, etc. Come join us any time and bring your questions and thoughts to the group!

Women's Bible Study

The women have been meeting at various times and places for a women's bible study, which takes portions of God's Word and focuses it to the lives and needs of today's woman. They have morning groups and evening groups - and are always looking to accommodate anyone they can.

Teen Confirmation Class

Teens, usually beginning in grades 7 and 8, are offered this catechism instruction course, which is taught once a week over 20 weeks. They are taught the same truths of God's Word that our introductory course covers. They do this by learning how to study their own bibles. At the end of the two year course, they are eligible to be "confirmed" as communicant members.

Sunday School - Kids 4 Christ (9:30 am)

Kids age 3-12 are welcome to join us any Sunday for Kids 4 Christ! They will learn a Bible lesson, do a craft, learn songs, play games, and have fun ways to get to know their Saviour better. Bring your child any time! You can either stay for Bible study or just drop them off! Call Kevin Walker at 905-817-0026 for more questions.
