Teach Catechism
Grade 7 & 8 students have the opportunity to study God's Word in greater depth so that they can have a rich understanding of the Bible and its main teachings. The prescribed course requirements for catechism are as follows: One year of learning God's Word from parents, one year of class work with Pastor Schulz, and obtaining 20 hours of congregational service. All of this culminates to confirmation day, when the students are given the opportunity to declare their faith and unity with the congregation and to express that unity with the rest of the congregation by taking Holy Communion together for the first time. This course is meant to strengthen (or confirm) their faith and give them a stepping stone for further growth and lifelong learning in the Scriptures.
What follows are the PowerPoint lessons that parents and students will need to fulfill the Grade 7 year of catechism.
