Walking Together Sunday

The word “synod” means “walking together.” May 1, 2005, was “Walking Together Sunday,” a day we have set aside to give thanks for the blessings we have in walking together with our brothers and sisters in the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod – and WELS-Canada. All of us have one mission – to proclaim peace through Jesus. Our partnership enables us to do more to accomplish that mission than we could ever do alone. It’s a precious partnership for which we give thanks!

A video was filmed here at Cross of Life on February 27, 2005 to take a look at the blessings the Lord is working through his Word and people at Cross of Life Lutheran Church in Mississauga, Ontario.

This video communicates, through the eyes of a mission congregation, the partnerships by which we proclaim God’s peace through Jesus. It was shown in many churches across our Synod around the world, in order to encourage our brothers and sisters in their faith and mission, and show them how their brothers and sisters are reaching people for Jesus Christ.

We thank the Lord for the work of his Holy Spirit in our midst. And we thank our brothers and sisters walking together with us for enabling us to be here and for “packing our parachutes.”
